Volkswagen key fobs come in many different shapes and sizes but there are only two ways to replace their battery. Mine is the easiest of the two. For this you will need no tools, however a spudger might come in handy in dislodging the battery.

Pull from the small plastic square in the direction of the arrow to release the casing.

Insert a spudger or a pointed object inside of the marked ledge to help release the battery.

Replace the battery and congrats!! You are done.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

The key generally is too sensitive mine just stopped working and it was not the battery and I had to open the car manually . I lost the spare key and a new one took 2 months to order and cost about 250 dollars ! Yes you read that right !
