Why is there no audio?
I see that my media is playing, but I cannot hear it.

Sound is off
Make sure that the volume is up and not on mute.
Device is plugged into audio jack
Make sure that that the audio jack is clear of all devices.

I have the same issue. sometime it works just fine and sometime not! I even upgraded my machine from windows 8 to 10 hopping it'd fix it forever. unfortunately, it still comes and goes! any ideas how to fix it?

Hi, Just a few suggestions.
When it doesn't work what have you checked?
Have you plugged in headphones when this occurs to see if it is a speaker problem or not?
Have you checked in Device Manager to see if there is a problem with the Audio Controller?
Does it only occur when playing certain file types e.g. .mp3, .wav etc.?
