I also have this issue, the phone seemed fine but it was stuck searching for network, I erased all content and settings but I then couldn't activate the phone (still searching for network), so I thought I'd try a restore and try activating through iTunes, It is now stuck in restore mode and repeatedly giving me error 47, whatever the problem is wasn't causing too much grief before I tried to restore it so why the !&&* is it so messed up now, fails everytime installing the firmware and I'm clueless as to what the problem is

из

yes it is also similar to what happened to me

из

exactly same happened to me with 5S. Couldn't connect to cellular network (3G) anymore so decided to update from 9.1 to 9.3. Totally &&^&@@ now. error 47.

из

so what is the solution to this case , the iPhone will not respond as well to this error

из

same problem here and I am really !#^&@@ off with the situation since no one from apple will help

as per my information code 47 is related to baseband. i have the same issue and it is in maintenance now. after if it'll be fixed I will inform but what I have been told is that error 47 is not related to software and is something on logic board. Good Luck

Its already fixed?

из

That could be A problem however, i would suggest you not resort to that first lol.

Allot of the times, it has to do with the software on the iphone or the host file on the computer your using. If it cant access apples servers it will give that error. I had the same problem with a ipt 4th gen that doesnt even have a baseband.

Please don't post a answer on something you really don't have experience with and just googled your self.

из

Unfortunately It is not fixable. We have tried by hard to fix it (Glass as master calls) but no success. All you need is new logic board. Pity but true.

I am going to try and replace the baseband chip tomorrow. We will see. I will let you all know

Update (05/19/2016)

It was the baseband chip. Heated it up and phone restored. The solder points became loose from over charging and heat.

What chip did you heat and how did you do it? Did you remove the EMI shield and heat the large Broadcom chip? I have seen reference to locating a U16 chip and trying to heat that. I'm not sure what to do , but I want to try and fix this error 47.

из

Yes you must remove the heat shield near the battery connection. The chip will say qualcom and i recommend using an infer red temp gauge. do not exceed 200 degrees. The easy way to tell is by touch. Almost burning is just right. Firm pressure after the heating and wait about 30 mins before installing logic board. It took me 3 tries after restore errors to be successful. I had this method work on 2 iPhone 5c's. Do not over heat, it will cause problems with baseband chip. :) Cheers...

из

Thank you for the reply, I am going to give this a try.

из

Hi, how much did cost the repair ..... it´s expensive

из

Hi, I just tried this. I bought a mini heat gun that allowed me to control the temperature. I heated the baseband chip (Qualcom) until it was almost burning. Let it cool down and did a restore. So far so good!

I had the same problem so I took my phone to the Apple store where I was told that if a number pop up with the error message there is a problem with the hardware and basically your phone is now a paperweight /:

Itunes error codes are about as useful as a football bat. You can google the supposed fixes but they are usually always a board level issue. You can try a different cable, a different USB port, a different computer, a different charge port, and so on. Yet, none of these never seem to solve the issue. At this point, you should either take it to a repair shop, or to the Apple store.

Put the phone into DFU mode and restore it. If that doesnt work check the host file on the pc you are on, search reset the host file on windows (Version your on) and follow instructions and that should fix it.

Sometimes this happens, when it cant receive the ssh blob from apples servers. So, it cant' verify the software and it wouldnt boot without the ssh blob because its one of the required files by the os to boot.

Thats part of the reason that Jailbreaking is so hard sometimes because the devs of the jailbreak have to find a way around the boot security and a way inside the software itself.

Have had a nightmare of a time restoring an old iPhone 5 to factory settings. It's been out of regular use for 18 months and I just started letting my toddler play around with it. I should have deleted the passcode ages ago. Upon receiving "iPhone disabled, connect to iTunes" I did just that, only it wouldn't sync to iTunes.

By unplugging the phone, doing a hard reset, then continuing to hold the HOME button, I reconnected the USB cable already connected to the computer (with iTunes open). As the phone turned back on, iTunes finally recognised the device needed updating and restoring. Unfortunately after several attempts to simply update software and restore from iTunes failed, it eventually downloaded the software (this also took several attempts as the iPhone kept disconnecting from iTunes and the whole process would pause and fail to restart).

Once the newest software was downloaded in iTunes, it attempted to extract software from the iPhone and restore to factory settings. This also failed and an error message came up saying "this iPhone cannot be restored to factory settings. (Error 47)"

I waited a few minutes, frustrated to the max, then did the same thing by disconnecting the phone then holding the buttons as though doing another hard reset, holding the home button and reconnecting the cable. Once again it kicked into action and began restoring the phone...and this time it all went through ok.

During this process, that msg that had originally told me my phone was disabled and needed connecting to iTunes, disappeared and the screen would only go to black, with the apple logo coming up if I held any button down. It definitely seemed as though I'd never get it up and running again.

But it's completed. The old iPhone 5 is back to square one.

I've read all the previous replies about heating some chip. I wouldn't know the first thing about that and am glad perseverance worked in my case! Took a few hours of repeatedly trying, though. Hopefully time and patience will work for someone else :) good luck!

From what I can gather heating the phone works some times. This sounds similar to the Error 50, which is a baseband chip error. The reason heating sometimes works is that it causes all the solder points to expand and then that allows the chip connect and to work properly, but this will only be temporary. The way to fix it permanently would be to reball the baseband chip.

This is the explanation for error 50 and it sound to me to be a similar issue…

“The iphone 5s has three chips that have to be matched for activation on the apple server these being. serial number/ region/ colour/ WiFi and Bluetooth addresses are stored on the emmc (nand) this is tied to a serial number on the baseband modem and the eeprom baseband memory. During restore all three need to communicate and match. If a mismatch then activation is not possible.”

I am new, so if this is helpful, please click YES.
