Sapphire Screen Replacement Possible?
Is it possible to replace the Ion-X screen in the Apple Watch Sport with a Sapphire Screen? When will screens be available for purchase?

I do not believe that you can switch the screens across the different models. By doing that repair, you could possibly be compromising the integrity of the water-resistance of the watch. It definitely would be interesting if it was possible.
In regards to the screens being available, they shouldn't be available form iFixit for at least another month. I am sure, though, that they are working as fast as they can to get the products to market for purchase.

When you change screens, you no longer have any expectation of water resistance.

You can. But, as far as I know you can't replace just the glass touch screen due to a software issue, you'd have to replace the whole OLED screen.

I have replace my screen on a Series 1 42mm with a sapphire screen and its the same screen only changes the digitalizer so it fits perfectly, i have bought the screen in Aliexpress but i think you can buy it here.

I have done this on a Series 2 and the screen fit exactly the same. The screens are interchangeable. Not sure if the later models are able to do this, but I assume so.

Old thread so apologies, but this is the first result for searching if replacing a screen with Ion-X glass for a screen with Sapphire Crystal glass is possible, and there isnβt much on that topic
I wanted to pitch in and say I just did for my Series 4 watch that originally had Ion-X glass. I purchased a sapphire crystal screen here from iFixit (# IF409-001-2) and it works just fine.

I Would really love to replace the ion x screen by the sapphire!
My ion x is scratched and it's driving me nuts. i only have had it for 3 days and already notice some little scratches. It is not normal.
