Display blinking when turning display back and forth

Hi. I have a MacBook Air 2011 13" and I have this problem.

When I'm trying to turn the display I have some flickering and lose of colour. Sometimes the picture becomes frozen.

That accrues when I'm open my laptop and turn it on after some time in sleep. So it is cold. When it heats up a little bit, problem seems to go away.

I opened it and make a little test, pushing the display cable to what happened. It seems like pushing the cable helps, while not pushing cause flickering even on "heated" laptop.

Do you thing that the problem in this cable or in some other place?

I experience the same problem. I also opened it, but the display connector nor the cabel does not react to some pushing and movements. In my case it seems to be inside the display assembly. I reacts to slight twists or pressing on the left border. I wonder if the display assembly can be taken apart without destroying it completely?

Did you had any luck with your repair?

I would say 99% shure your problem is your lvds connector on the motherboard itself you can sometimes fix this with some kapton tape its high heat tape roll it over a few times to make a tube like put it UNderneath the lvds cable to give pressure to hit all the top pins. Also look inside the connector with a magnify glass and see if there is debris or broken gold pin they should all be straight across one after another and same level. But really in my opinion I would send it a component level repair guy that could solder the lvds connector on its one of the more tougher soldering jobs in surface mount stuff.

I experienced the same problem on mine (A1369). It’s funny (if I can say so) that after a few hours without being used (especially if I take it somewhere in a bag), the problem occurs 100% of the time. I’m pretty sure it’s the lvds cable (not knowing exactly if it’s the cable itself or a soldering default), so I ordered on eBay a new replacement cable (here : http://www.ebay.fr/itm/301259558413?_trk...) for a few euros (I’m in France). As soon as I’m ready to operate, I’ll do it and keep you informed if display get better. I hope so, because it doesn’t seem VERY simple to do with the bezel which as to be taken away to access one side of the cable plug. Everybody says this step can be uneasy. I’m quite at my ease with screws and all that (did several repairs on different macs), but I'm pretty unsure that this glued bezel will still seem new after I did the repair…

Anyway I’ll keep everybody informed when it’s done. Even if I’m obliged to buy a new 2016 MBA (which would certainly be a good and expensive replacement solution)...
