My laptop isn't charging for some reason. I've made sure that the power chord is plugged in properly and my computer shows that it is charging on screen, but the battery percentage never goes up no matter how long I leave the computer charging.

Since the charger is showing that energy is actually coming to the computer and it powers on, the charger seems to be working just fine. Based on the fact that it won't go up in battery percentage, your battery is probably the issue. The battery itself isn't charging and needs to be replaced most likely.
