Jeffrey, if this is a new question, you should really ask it for yourself. It looks like you answered a question. Check on the right hand side of this page , you will find a link that says "Ask A Question" it is not hard to do but will make sure that people see that you are asking. Good Luck

On the internet I found this manual.( see the link) Be carefull when you are to the step foulding the screen and phone open, I broke the "AP board". That is the board (thin foil) under the 3 buttons below the screen. I bought the screen in China, 40 dollar but this is ONLY the glass and you still have to split the glass from the several capacitive and touch layers. This part is not described in the manual. I am searching for the AP board and the way how to replace only the glass. Do you have a AP board for sale?

Good luck

Walter Jansen.

Is there someone that can repair my HTC HD2 for me? I have a broken glass, bought a new glass but have difficulties assembling the touch screen layers.

OK, that video is helpful to a point. Problem is, it shows a factory prototype that isn't glued together in any way like the production model is. You can see the white grease paper is still on the double sided tape on the back of the LCD. I'd call that cheating.

I replaced the Glass on an HTC HD2 today. It was painful but doable. As soon as I get another one to replace I will make a very detailed guide on how to repair and replace the glass and other parts.

If anyone has an HD2 with a broken glass they are willing to ship to me, I can repair it (provided the part or cost of part) and can make a guide as well.

Note: When ordering the part you need to be sure you order the digitizer compatible with the T-Mobile version.

I unsuccessfully replaced the glass on an HD2 today. After I got it back together the touch screen was unresponsive and I apparently damaged the LCD in the process. There are now several horizontal lines going across the display. Also, it didn't fit together really well after reassembly. I'll try again tomorrow.

I would rate this procedure a very difficult.

Tried again today and it looks like I bricked it. Won't power on. No response to anything. Sh*t!

if it's like an iphone that won't power on i'd check the battery terminals before declaring it bricked

Gary try this.

Remove the battery. Now plug in the AC adapter. With the AC adapter plugged in, slide your battery in. Your phone should turn on. If it does, it means you broke the AP board (which has the power button on it). If it dosn't, then check all connections. You don't need the back cover installed in order to turn the phone on BTW.

Try it out plz and let me know.

I've been doing phones for a while now, pride myself in fixing anything, I am a 25 yr component level tech. To replace the glass on this thing is nearly impossible the digitizer and the touch screen are fused together. the phone its self is very cheaply constructed and difficult to reassemble. not worth doing

This is prety cool , ok in response to my last post, Jason C commented on my post. Thanks Jason I had gotten lazy, thanks for calling me out on this one, I must explain though I own an electronics repair shop in Mercedes Tx,I am a one person operation full time, I work on anything electronic. I started doing Phones Cause its a great source of quick income. In my case if a phone is dificult and time consuming to do its not worth it to me. I can repair almost anything on an Iphone in about 5 minutes that include the i4. I apolgize to you guys for last post and will keep in mind that is site is for people who want to fix their electronics on theirown and not necessarily for people like me. My knowlege of the repair business is vast if I can help any one please feel free to ask. Again I apologize for the bad post thanks to all who responded.

Hello lizzjord,

You sound like a reputable tech, however you are wrong. The LCD and digitizer are now not fused together. The phone is not hard to reassemble.

I also believe $35 is better than $450 or more for a replacement phone.

I have successfully fixed several HTC HD2 phone digitizers. YES this is a VERY difficult phone to work with and if you do not seat the parts back together, it can give you problems from not turning on to turning on with the charger connected to shorting out on you. However, it is a DOABLE task with extreme care and precision. You have to know where the cables are and how to disassemble it correctly. Else, you will have a phone in pieces which will not work or some parts will break on you. That said,if you need any help with this device, you can email me at and i will do my best to help you through it. We also sell parts for this and many other devices, if you don't find what you are looking for there, call us at

So if you feel confident enough and want to do it yourself, we can supply you with parts at a very reasonable rate and also provide support. please check our website for part availability at

Thank you,

Fahra

After I replaced my screen, the glue between screen and lcd has been removed on most parts and that makes phone with holes for dust and so on.

Is there any place I could by that sticky tape to put it back on an replaces screen (digitizer)? For me would be good either precut or non-precut tape.

Thanks in advance for sharing information.

@Jason C

I have a phone that I definitely wouldn't mind you using as a tutorial! I can provide parts, even a little compensation! I just cracked the digitizer recently and I'm really upset about it. I've replaced digitizers before, but the htc hd2 seems a bit out of my league. I'm not sure how to PM, but if you contact me I would really love any help...

Maybe it is a little bit late but for the ones who possibly will face with this problem I would like to give the solution. I had the same problem with my HTC HD2 after replacing the touch screen, than I found that the touch screen soldering to the Display was poor and I solder it again now carefully and strong. The problem solved. Hope this helps.
