Freezing issues on start up.

FIX FOR XBOX FREEZING ON START UP

For anyone experiencing a “freeze up” upon start up of your Xbox console (meaning Xbox fails to load its dashboard and hangs on profile sign-in), following the instructions below:

Xbox is currently working on fixing a major issue with its auto sign-in feature, so relax, your Xbox is not toast.

Turn off Xbox console.

TURN OFF HOME ROUTER.

Turn on Xbox.

Your dashboard should now load.

From the Dashboard, navigate to SETTINGS.

Find and TURN OFF AUTO SIGN-IN for Xbox and Messenger (if applicable).

Turn off Xbox.

Turn back on home router.

Wait for router to initialize.

Turn Xbox back on.

Load a game.

Now sign into your profile from within the game by pressing the Xbox Home button and choose your profile.

This is a temporary fix. Microsoft is currently working on a patch that will be downloaded to your console when ready. This will allow you to turn back on the auto sign-in feature.

The first issue I ran into with this was realizing that if you plug the power supply into a surge protection strip, it will almost always lock up. The best way to prevent this is to simply plug it into the wall. Make sure it's got a lot of air and isn't in a tight place. Otherwise, you'd have to get a bit more techincal with it, often involving replacements. It's not nice to spend the 100 for a repair, but I would not recommend doing unapproved procedures, as Microsoft can and will check for these if you try them. If you send it in, they will give it back reporting that they will not attempt to fix an opened unit.

Try keeping the Xbox running for an hour because it might need heat inside it for the things that is in it to work properly this is only my opinion

I'm also having a kinda same problem it gets stuck on intro screen on Xbox logo or on the ribbons with black line on one of the green ribbon

I hav watched many videos on YouTube but never see a black line on Xbox Intro screen

Can anyone helpme out

Have dust cause this issue for which black line appears ?

My warranty is also over else I would have sent it to Microsoft

When it freezes, are you able to go back to the dashboard by pressing the eject or guide button?

If not, then your 360 is about to get the rrod. You should get a reflow done. Do not do the overheating trick with the rrod repair kit that a lot of people around here are recommending.

This is happening to me too, one minute I am happily playing Skyrim.. (then it froze, I left it on all night :( but this has happened before.) I tried doing what Microsoft said on their website, but then this update came up and I cant update it because I don't have enough storage because I had to take my hard drive out again, so when I pressed no for the update it froze, every single time. I am dying to find out what is causing it (I might check the hard drive again...) or try to hook up my Xbox 360 to my computer.

i was updating xbox 360 , during update my installation were hang, i think it will update , i wait 1 hour , then i restart the xbox 360, it start but nothing show on the screen and in the beginning the xbox 360 start button light green in the ring and then suddenly turns the ring light or change permanently the ring into red , and then freeze .

i open the xbox 360 , but cant finding any reset clue in the xbox 360. any one have any idea how reset the factory, Microsoft builds &&^&^$^ $@$* products, i waste my money.
