My laptop is not producing sound, and when I investigated it told me that “audio services are not responding”. I’ve tried updating drivers and have restarted the device several times, but to no avail. Asus says I need to dish cash to send it in and get it fixed, but is there any way I can fix this myself?

I think they told you that because the issue is not about any software or drivers, hardware related to audio output need to be replaced or to be fixed.
