Removing iPhone Chrome Bezel

Can anyone tell me how difficult, how long and how to remove and replace the chrome bezel on an iPhone 3Gs? Do I have to disassemble the entire phone to do it, or can I access the screws after the display is removed? Thanks!

I've read the takedown guide, however, they never get to removing the bezel. I need to know if I have to remove all of the components in order the remove just the bezel; or if I can remove the bezel with lesser effort. Thanks!

look at the repair guide for the rear panel - in the last step you'll see all that remains is the bezel attached to the rear panel.

if you read some of the notes/comments below that for step 30, you'll find the bezel is glued to the rear panel but it can be removed.

anyhow it basically looks like you have to disassemble the whole phone, not just the front display assembly

Hi guys,

Just wondering whether you managed to replace your Iphone 3G Bezel

I want to replace JUST THE BEZEL on my Iphone 4 too.

I have seen many websites offering replacement bezels for the Iphone 4, which I would love to buy, however I cannot find a video or anybody explaining how to do it.

Is there a way to replace the original bezel with a brand bezel one easily, or do I have to teardown the whole phone to get to it?

which phone do you want to repair????if it's the 3g/3gs then yes you can do it. follow guide as bac says. make sure you remove all the glue from small plastic "tongues" on rear case as they need to fit in to "grooves" on bezel.

no idea about iphone 4 but is this a typo?

Thanks for the reply but yes it is the Iphone 4 bezel im looking to replace,, I just cant find anyone who has done it/attempted it/shown a guide to it!

If you know of any advice or someone I could contact then please let me know!
