Problem Connecting Zune 30 to Computer

I have Zune 30 that looks like in good shape and that I tried to connect to two different computers both having the Zune app. One running Windows 10 and the other Windows XP. Each time I connect it I can hear the sound made when connecting hardware, but neither the computer nor the app recognizes the Zune. Any help?
