How to increase the memory?
I have only 200 megs of memory left. How do I get into it and what kind and size of a chip do I need for the TomTomXXL?

Jim, Tomtom constrains the memory in low-end models to differentiate from the high-end GO line.So, if you need more memory, Tomtom would like you to buy a bigger model.

Hey, Old Turkey03! Thanks again for your assistance. I am going to try this one in the morning. Still going to hang in here for other possibilities but so far, you seem to be taking me in the right direction.

How handy are you? I have read about people attaching memory card adapters to the build in card reader, but it involves plenty of soldering etc....otherwise, good luck and let us know how it is panning out.

Jim, what number do you have after your XXL 530S, 540S etc? Does it have an SD card slot? Have you tried to clear some of your memory, maps etc?

No external card slot and I could sure delete 80-90% of the maps if I knew how.
