The controller had more issues with unresponsive buttons but I put a new membrane on it. Also put a new pin connector as well and all buttons work except the left trigger. Any ideas on how to fix this? I used a 43A membrane and a 18 pin connector.

If everything is lined up properly it might be that the new membrane also has an issue, put it in another controller to confirm whether or not the L2 button works in that one.
I always swap them back and forth from a working controller to confirm which parts are / aren't working.
