download 3u tools then download the restore firmware and use it...that should solve the problem

well, you need to put it in dfu mode again
you need to power down the ipod
then hold down the home button and power button after you hit the power button
it should say connect to itunes
then connect to itunes
and it should work

This does not work. When attempting to do this all that happens is the ipod restarts and the message will come up again
