My left stick was detecting inputs without pressing it down, it's controlled by the c stick. I've taken the controller to check, and yeah the c stick effects the L input more then the L slider. I'm just completely stuck, any suggestions on how to fix this?

You must start by determining if it is the controller or the unit.
Easiest is to try another controller. Lacking that it is hunt and peck troubleshooting.
