On our Mazda, it means the key fob battery is dead. They die once a year or so depending on how often you use them. It's always good to have a couple on hand so you're not rushing out and paying top dollar at a drug store. They are cheaper online. There's probably a place to pry it open with a small screwdriver, but be gentle.
