no power microsoft surface pro6

i would like to ask if microsoft surface pro 6 can power on without battery or no?

because i have a 1796 model, got bloated and defective screeen , and i just want to retrieve the files

or do you have a manual to remove my motherboard and put it on other microsoft surface same model
