Why not power on?

Here's some troubleshooting steps you can start with to try to narrow down the problem:

• Try using a different battery. Make sure it is fully charged.
• Visually inspect the battery door switch to see if it's damaged and no pieces are broken off of it. This is a tiny switch located underneath the battery door (see image below) that tells the camera if the battery door is open. The camera will not power on if this switch is not pressed down, therefore a broken switch could prevent the camera from turning on.

• Take a flashlight and shine it up against the LCD screen at an angle. If you can see a faint image, the issue is with the backlight on the LCD screen

Also there should be a red LED indicator light on the bottom right on the backside of the camera. Does this light blink at all when you try to turn on the camera?
