Compressor starts up and blows reset button after building about 20 to 40 pounds of pressure, if I flip the on off switch a couple of times it will let me reset the button , then it runs again and does the same thing, it will keep building up pressure to 120psi.

did u check the oil?
Something is causing a heavy load on the motor, or the motor is going bad.

how can i check motor ? what would cause a heavy load? possibly wrong oil?
