@mollyadams218 your fuel pump is located in the tank itself. Here are the instructions for the 2000 2002 Ford Focus Fuel System which shows the removal of the fuel pump starting on page 10 as well as on how to drop the tank on page 8

Replacing the fuel pump on a 2000 Ford Focus is an involved process because there is no access panel under the rear seats. You will need to carefully drop the fuel tank to access the pump. there are youtube videos for everything including this process.
