Устранение неисправностей в работе фонаря Maglite, который не включается или работает с перебоями.

Why does this MagLite not work?

After removing the rubber button, an allen wrench loosens the Assembly, to then slide out from the Tube/case.

The On/Off switch works when connecting 3VDC Plus to A and Minus to B.

When the Assembly is installed in the Tube, it all works when connecting 3VDC to that A point (via a long screwdriver) and C (the rim of the Tube).

I even confirmed that there Is continuity from D (which Does press against the battery when assembled) and E.

The batteries Are good/full.

I cannot figure Why it won't work when put together.

Is the bulb showing continuity?

из

@honakrisi

Continuity? Maybe I don't understand your question.

When the switch is at On, the bulb lights and stays lit.

I suspect one of the following might be the case:

・The continuity state changes when the unit is assembled and pressed (between D and E, or at point A).

・There is a specific point where continuity between E and C degrades when the screw is tightened.

OK, I checked the Continuity of the bulb.

Yes, there is continuity between the two contacts on the bulb.

Further confusion:

With a Universal Power Adapter, output set at 2.85 VDC (and the voltmeter confirms that), connected at A and B, it works.

It takes quite a bit of pressure to screw the rear cap onto the Tube

when the Assembly and batteries are in (putting it all together),

so I thought that maybe there's too much pressure on A

(some broken connection Inside the Assembly?),

so I connected the Universal Power Adapter 2.85 VDC,

pushing Very Hard on A. It still works.

When the two batteries are lined up together, a voltmeter shows there is 2.94 VDC.

Add the Assembly (not inside the Tube) to that line, so A is touching battery #1 Plus, and a piece of wire from battery #2 Minus to B: it does Not work.

I've tried using "Panasonic Super Heavy Duty C" batteries, and "Eveready Classic C" batteries; none will work.

My conclusion so far: this thing won't work, even using GOOD batteries.

But it does work with 2.85 VDC from another source. WHY?!

C, D, and E are all negative battery connections; the flashlight body is battery negative. The connection between the top of the battery, positive, and A may be the point of incomplete disconnection. After putting the batteries back in and screwing the end cap back on, if possible, look into the top of the flashlight (lamp assembly removed) for battery positive. Maybe a piece fell out or the lamp assembly A contact needs bending to bridge a gap to physical connect to the battery top?

Wow. Am I wrong, or does that Dryer reply just Look like AI.?

OK, Dryer,... When the parts are removed, the Tube Is Empty.

With the Assembly removed, the batteries of course slide forward, fully visible, stopped only by the spring? washer that also stops the Assembly.

If A makes physical and electrical contact with the top of the battery, battery negative(-) from the case may not be physically making contact with the switch, B.
