The Sony NEX-5R is part of Sony's NEX series, the "New E-mount eXperience." It was released on 2012, and has a mirrorless, interchangeable lens. The body of the NEX-5R is made of a magnesium alloy, setting it apart from its cheaper counterpart: the Sony NEX-3.

The Sony NEX-5R also features 16.1 megapixels, while only taking 1.7 seconds to power on, focus, and take a picture. It also features integrated Wi-Fi allows users to share photos directly with smartphones and tablets.

The Sony NEX-5R camera comes in silver and black. You can identify your camera by the model name "NEX-5R" printed on the top and the model name and serial numbers printed on the bottom of the camera near the mount socket.
