The LCD top glass "screen" is cracked but the underlying LCD panel works perfectly as does the rest of the phone. That is - you can still swipe and press and the phone works. Can this layer of glass be replaced and if so where can it be obtained?

FrankLion, uses a single assembly that includes the front glass and the touchscreen digitizer. Here is a decent video that will show you the dis-assembly.
