2 Why does the display not light up?
When the laptop is on, the sound plays correctly but the lights do not come on. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Although the device turns on and the sound works, the LEDs may be too dim to see. The issue may be caused by a low battery. If the problem exists after replacing the batteries, the LED may be out completely. Check out our troubleshooting guide under display issues to see if LED replacement is necessary.

I think you have a battery issue. I recently read about this kiddie laptop on http://firstbabylaptop.com/ and you need to have a full charged battery for sound/lights to work.
