Mine shredded near the top where the z-bend is located. I cut out the shredded piece and repaired it with electrical splices after getting a new piece of the same size cable from a hardware store. Made sure the crimps were good and firm. Work perfectly. Read comment with the photo. Hope this helps. Cable Repair For Lawn Boy Drive Belt Engagement Lever
