xperia m2 backlight problem

recieved an used xperia m2 single sim -not aqua from from a friend.

when he gave it to me he said to me that water has been spilled(a few months ago) and nothing worked.

i gave it to a repair shop and they said that they cant repair it but after pressing a button at home after a few hours sound began to work. and the display too can be seen with a torch(no backlight).buttons too can be pressed.torch too works.

yersterday i noticed that when pressing the power button (to see lock screen) the backlight works well(as normal) for about half a second and dims again.

anyway to fix this?.

help is highly appreciated!

@noname123 as with any water damaged phone, you need to be aware that the chance are always slim to get it back to normal. the longer you wait the less of a chance. It is imperative that you do not use the phone, remove the battery. Disassemble the phone using these guides and clean all the parts with high grade isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Use this guide for the cleaning. It was written for an iPhone but all the points are still pertinent to your phone as well. You must also remove all EMI shields. Repeat this process a few time. While you are cleaning it, check for any missing, corroded or otherwise suspicious looking components. Once it is properly cleaned, replace the battery and reassemble. Then reevaluate for any damage. It is possible that a new front display will be needed, but without proper cleaning anything will only be a guess. Hope this helps, good luck.

@oldturkey03 thanks for your answer.but i must remind that water went to the phone about a year ago.

also the question i have is if the screen is broken how does the backlight work well for at least half a second?

That is the bad part. Corrosion!!!! Until a component gets hot and shuts down. Check the filters and power transistors.
