iPad stuck in an endless loop

So I left my iPad at home and when I got back it was out of battery. I plug it in and instead of it powering up and charging like normal it is stuck on the white screen with the apple logo and play the sound it makes when you start charging over and over again in 3-5 second intervals. I have tried hard resetting by holding the sleep/wake button and the home button but it will just power itself on again and continue the loop. I can not use iTunes to reset the device because I need to enter my password. What else can I do?

This issue is a PITA to get the iPad started up and working again.

Make sure you are using a 2A apple wall charger and a good charging cable.

Keep it plugged into the iPad.

Try doing what is explained in this link:

https://daniellehatfield.com/2014/05/how...

On a side note, I don't know why apple didn't just implement a charging screen like android devices do when powered off. This would save a lot of hassle with worn out batteries as it forces some users to get their batteries replaced because of this flat battery boot loop issue.

thank you for letting me know of this method! I was able to get my iPad into recovery mode and reinstall the system thing

There are much better solutuion options than hers in the comments, and one of them worked for me (putting the ipad into DFU mode)

Yes the charger was the problem for me also….I rang Apple but they had know idea about their own products, probably because they are using foreign cheap labour in their call centres.

Advice for Apple…understand your own products and their design faults!!

Keep changing the charger till you get that one that fixes the problem or try a mobile battery charger.

Wake up apple!!

Generally speaking, Apple does not use “foreign cheap labour in their call centers”. Generally they are USA based and highly knowledgeable about their products. Selecting the correct support issue usually designate who you are speaking to at the beginning. While Apple has many issues with their software in my opinion, they have hands down some of the best support for their devices when they are under warranty, and even outside of the warranty period.

Sorry, Nick. I have a good friend who worked at Apple call center, and while yes, it is in the US (Seattle, to be exact) she is a android/window user who has never owned an Apple product in her life and barely knows how to use the junk that she does own. Further, she didn't work directly for Apple. Level one support, at least, are subcontractors, and they read off a script. They tell you to do all the obvious things, like reboot, reset PRAM, etc. In fact, the computers in the center were all windoze boxes!

Actually, there is an easier way…be sure to be using IPAD charger only.

Get your unit into DFU mode ( easy to find procedure- no need to list it here.

Once its in DFU mode, be sure to leave plugged in and do not touch ipad.

It will stay in DFU mode for about 10 minutes and then since no action has been taken, unit will reboot normally and you should have about 6% power, proceed to normal shutdown and let unit charge for at least 1 hour.

Your welcome

Are you using an Apple original charger and Lightning cable? Has the device been dropped or otherwise damaged, came into contact with water or was previously repaired? While devices can spontaneously fail, issues usually crop up after situations like those outlined above.

If data retention is not an issue, you can also try to do a full DFU Restore. You could try to use some third party software tools, like 3uTools or ReiBoot to see if the device can be forced into or out of recovery mode.

Otherwise, there may be an issue on the logic board that is impeding the device from completing it's boot process. This would require help from an experienced micro-solderer.

I had this same issue for days. Did a little research online and found that the problem was that I was using my iPhone charger, not my big, original square iPad charger. I found my old iPad charger, plugged it in and poof! it took of the issue. The reasons being, is that the iPad chargers output a larger voltage (10V vs 5V) than the iPhone chargers.

Have restored my IPad multiples times, but it’s not starting. Now got my original Charger Panel.

Should I leave the iPad on charge with original charger for sometime? And then what should I do?

Quite frustrated since past 22 hours
