Testing the device without a battery?

I recently got a as-is device lot for a iPod Classic 6th gen but this phone came with it, but no battery (SGH-T889), along with a Galaxy Core Prime I need to replace the LCD digitizer on and make sure the LCD is okay. However, due to the lack of battery with the Note II I cannot test it right now but I don’t see any AMOLED screen cracks. It also looks like the IMEI is clean. Sadly, I lost the battery from the Note II years ago.

That being said, I also have ANOTHER Note II I got years ago that was damaged by being broken in the most embarrassing way, but I have a known good AT&T board I have the unlock code for. My plans for this phone are if I can get it working great I’ll try and unlock it as well, but if I find something is off about it I have the AT&T board I can drop in and then I’ve finally gotten around to rebuilding it.

I have one coming, but is there a way known to work to get around these things demanding a battery to even TURN ON?

I have tried to get phones on without the battery as well, but I have had no luck. I would suggest just buying the battery and testing it that way. This is true with a lot of phones, they need the battery in order to turn on.

It's not that I don't have one coming - I do. I was hoping I could quickly check the health of the phone and AMOLED panel.

@nick As far as I know there is no easy way to do that, so I would wait for your battery to come in.
