What's the model number printed on the label on the bottom of your laptop? Knowing that will let us get you the correct information to replace your LCD. On many laptops it's a fairly simple operation, but we'll know more once you post your model number.

First off, get your wallet some Tums - you made an expensive mistake. You now know why anyone who doesn't need to deal with corporate secrecy who buys old Elitebooks replaces the screens with the standard IPS panel if the SureView panel breaks - that, and the cable is special for those models so it's a royal pain.

The 2-in-1 screens are fused, so such service is nearly impossible, for the glass cover machines. The LG panels with the touchscreen digitizer are infinitely cheaper to fix as they can be dismantled and serviced piecemeal. When you break the glass screen, you must purchase the assembly as a unit without exception. Anyway, PartsPeople has the parts for your machine. What I would do in this case is match the panel up to your existing one, or if you can't find an exact match, go one tier up (ex: If you have a non WWAN HD cam model and you can't find it, get the IR Cam version). The part number that came with it is 5DXD5

The service manual can be found here.

Hi Nick , I honestly have no idea how to match panel to the existing one . How do I do that ? Also the website have different screens , I have never fixed a screen before but willing to try , can you explain a step by step approach on what I need to purchase including the tools.

Thank you Nick

@ganew Look on the Dell site with the ST and match it up that way. I'll do it later and show you the line that indicates which one you need.

@ganew I posted the part number and where I found it. Yep the CFRP lid will cost you so if you can take it apart and find the bare panel you will save a few bucks. You may have gotten extremely lucky given it’s a normal assembly and not the sealed glass one. It’s probably a IPS LG 75% sRGB panel with an integrated touchscreen layer.
