The Lenovo G50-70 can be identified by model information printed on the bottom (model name 20351), or on sticker next to track pad. This laptop has a 15.6 inch screen with Dolby audio. Manufacturing began in 2014.

Hello!

Please could someone help me. 🙏🏻

My old Lenovo G50-70 has just presented me with the blue screen of death: error code 0xc0000034.

At the time, I was looking at a saved word document, the screen became pale and at the top it said that Word was not responding. I could not escape this frozen screen, so I powered off.

Upon powering up, the lovely blue screen of death appeared.

Following YouTube advice, I have tried powering up and off 3 times. Nope, doesn't work.

I have tried powering up whilst holding the F8 key continually. Nope.

Same with F11 key. Nope.

I think I have Windows 8. I know, I know, ancient.

Look, the problem is that I have lots of saved files that I need on this laptop. I do have a new laptop, an Asus Vivobook, and I was about to transfer files from Lenovo to Asus, when this disaster struck!

I am a yoga teacher, I am not technically savvy with computer systems.

Please, please, could someone help me. I just need it to work long enough for me to transfer my saved files and class photos etc., on to my new Asus.

Exit

If I press any of the F keys, they do not work

Worst comes to worst and you can't fix it the easiest way to retrieve your files is to remove the HDD from the Lenovo laptop and connect it to the Asus laptop via a sata to USB adapter as an additional drive and copy the files that way.

Depending on what types of USB ports the Vivobook has, you may need either a sata to USB2.0 adapter or a sata to USB3.0 adapter (examples only)

Here's an article that explains what to do.

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Go to p.37 (41 of 96 pdf) in the manual, to view the procedure to remove the HDD from the laptop.

I truly think that is beyond my capabilities.

Where can I safely download Windows 8 64 bit (not Windows 8.1), as I will try to reboot.

I am following a tutorial in YouTube.

You can try working your way through these solutions here. You will need a USB with a windows ISO for windows 8 or windows 8.1 (depending on your windows version), put onto your USB with a tool like rufus.

A second USB may be needed to get files off the computer.

Umm, I have no idea what all that means. I know what a USB key is though.

I need someone to walk me through, is there anywhere on this site where that can be done?
