The Nissan D-series produced from 1986.5–1997 represents a long-running lineage of compact and mid-size pickups. Mostly recognized by the D21 "Hardbody" and the subsequent D22 Frontier. Introduced in the mid-1980s to replace the Datsun 720, the D21 featured the first V6 engine offered in a small Nissan truck in the U.S.
