You have to swap the daughterboard from the origianal optical drive that came with the console from the factory with the daugtherboard with the new drive you are going to install. Each optical drive daughterboard is married to the motherboard so it must stay with that motherboard even if the drive is swapped out.

You will need to desolder the wires for the motor and solder them back on the replacement board.
