Ok, so hopefully someone with more knowledge than myself can help.
I bought a used iPhone 5 off of eBay a few weeks ago. Everything worked, but the battery life left a lot to be desired. Even with light use, it would be dead by lunch. It would lose a percentage point every minute or so of use. Anyway, I've tinkered with electronics before so I decided to swap out the battery.
The swap went well, and my phone was soon back up and running. Except the battery seemed to drain just as quickly as before. But here's the weird thing. At about 12%, the battery drain slows. And then at 1%, the phone will last for hours. It'll go through the first 90% in about two hours, then last the rest of the day at 1%.
I bought a cheap battery off eBay, so I tonight maybe that my be the culprit. I've also considered it may be a software issue, as I set up this iPhone from a backup. Maybe a restore and set up as a new device will fix it.
Other than those ideas, I'm stumped. Anybody else experience this? And ideas? Is there a physical battery sensor/indicator that can be replaced? Thanks guys.
