Since it doesn't seem to fail except when using Excel, have you tried [https://help.xlstat.com/s/article/updating-microsoft-excel-on-windows?language=en_US|updating the Excel software] or thought about uninstalling Excel and then re-installing it again to see if this resolves the problem, you didn’t say?
Alternatively install this [https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/|free office suite software] and check if the problem occurs when using it.
