Can't get adhesive open on Samsung Galaxy S22?

I'm following [guide|155381], trying to replace my charging port. However, I can't get the opening pick inserted into the adhesive. Nothing I've tried gets even the slightest gap for fitting anything inside.

Has anyone had any luck doing a repair requiring opening up a Samsung Galaxy S22? And if so, how did you get it open?
