Well, it could be battery related, but what also happens sometimes with the PSP is that some IC falls of from the motherboard… it’s possible that some IC is “loose” and starting to come off. So I recommend to open it up and check if the motherboard is still OK.

Sorry for the bad news, but this thing would be more likely…
