Is there no way to replace a new iMac's glass panel?
Hey all,
So I unfortunately cracked my iMac's glass screen, and it's a late 2015 model — it looks like Apple fused the glass to the LCD display for these, making it such that you have to replace the entire display instead of just the glass.
I know this question has been asked before, but most of the posts I've seen are 2 - 4 years old at this point. Surely by now someone has come up with a way around this?
If not, I also have a dead Late 2012 iMac at home. Would it be possible to use the display from that?
Thanks!!

Hello, I could do it; By mistake I broke the one from an iMac late 2015 A1418 EMC 2833 that came with part number LM215WF3 SDD5 and replaced it with the one from a late 2012 a1418 EMC 2544 and had part number LM215WF3 SDD1; The connector that goes to the motherboard in the 2012 is smaller but the original one that the 2015 comes with is placed, since the connector that goes to the screen does not change for both, it is the same size, just that and in fact the one in the 2015 works also in 2012. Obviously both are 2K and the compatibility of the donor must be checked, since there are EMC ones that correspond to another type of display. If you search on Aliexpress with the model of your equipment, a reference image of the compatibilities appears.
