Clean both the hook and earring with hydrogen peroxide to ensure that there are no germs, dust, or other particles on the pieces.

In one hand, hold the hook in place.
Use pliers to gently pull open the small loop at the base of the hook.

Carefully insert the open loop on the hook through the loop on the earring.
If your earring has a designated front and back, ensure that the front of the earring is facing away from the tip of the hook.

Use pliers to close the loop by clamping down on the open end of the loop and the base of the hook, pushing them towards one another.
If done correctly, the loop should be a complete circle.
