Ive done this now several times successfully, Although I would suggest buying the lcd/digitizer assembly as 1 unit. It is very tedious, frustrating work and the glass shards are very difficult to clean up - if you have kids don't do it. It is hard enough to re and re without damaging the lcd/digitizer connectors If its the only tablet you have, save yourself the headache and spend the money. fee-bay has them listed for ~$50 USD free ship from China.
I use a warming try that I bought fromthe thrift store for $3 put it on low with a cloth and set the assembly on lt will heat to about 70c then use a toothbrush and apply 99% rubbing alcohol to soften the glue now use a thin tool of choice to slide through the layers do not push and pull as you slide out dip the tool into the alcohol and re enter this will help keep it from sticking and will keep the glue from resetting the whole process is done on the tray use a thermometer to check that the cloth stays within 10 degees of 70c (170f)
