Did you hit the screen or the tablet was drop down to the floor ? If yes,maybe the screen is cracked. If not, then maybe it's a circuit problem in the capacitors of the motherboard that send the GPL_KL sensor to light up the screen.

Like the 1st thing that i say to everyone,and most of the times it works like 70% at least is ,factory reset your phone. If not change the battery, If not send it to the company you bought it from , and replace any component needs changed.
Then the best solution for you is to flux , solder , replace the capacitor (most common enemy each time) ,with a new one to be sure. Take a multimeter and test it out
