In Lenovo Ideapad 110 15ACL the USB ports are located in such a place related to the power socket that it's very easy to break a USB port if there is something inserted that sticks out and the power cord causes some tension in the device protruding out. That's why I'm here, only the single USB2 port in mine is functional. Luckily I found another laptop of the same model with other issues but a functional motherboard so I'm swapping it. Another possibility would have been replacing the port, but it's a bit tight there for my skills and equipment. Be very careful with all the ports in the left side and don't fool around with the power cord, try routing it so that it won't interfere with the other gadgets.
A general tip: when reassembling not all holes take in a screw even if they look that way. Some holes will get filled when you screw in the screws attaching the back panel, or if there are several layers of stuff attached the screw will go in on another level. But how to know where to put a screw in? Of course you can study the back panel or the other layers to see where the screws go and compare to the screw holes inside but there is an easier way. In almost all the circuit boards there will be a small triangle printed right next to a hole that takes a screw on that particular level. If there are several holes next to each other, examine the printed triangle. There is always one "corner" of the triangle pointing right at the hole where you are supposed to put a screw in. Some of you guys already know this, but as these guides are read by newcomers looking for easy instructions and tips I'm sure not all do. I figured this out by myself and it made my life a lot easier. No more screwing aroung in vain :D
You really should swap steps #2 and #3. It's too easy to break some plastic if you try to disconnect the clips while the screws hiding under the (possibly fake) dvd drive are still there. My unit has three of them. And my other unit has been mutilated by a previous owner not finding those three little screws and removing them early enough :) Luckily the damage is not visible after putting the laptop together again.
