Thanks again everybody responding, got it going a couple of hrs ago and guess what ... 2nd HDD needed the jumper set to slave and all works like a charme, set up for Striped RAID and I am a happy boy. Cheers

So no one done the 2nd HDD into the Powerbook G4 17" 1.67 on here? I have used the ifixit OptiBay caddy for HDD, surely someone else would have tried this same conversion! Cheers for all answers sofar, but no help really, question still open "Do I need to set a jumper (to slave) for 2nd HDD or not?
