Just go to you general electronics store or hardware store they have copper tape, or search online and you can just apply that, should be pretty obvious what the copper tape was for asle... It works in conjunction as an EMI shield and heat sink to REDUCE the heat and transfer to the tape to prevent the battery or anything fro. over heating. And Kalp, that's also probably why your ipod keeps going into restore due to over heat you may have fried something... copper shield tape Copper tape isn't cheap... But will come in handy for projects...

Have you tried a hard reset on the iPod? 1.) you're going to toggle the iPod "Hold" switch on then off. 2. ) next hold down [Menu]+[Select] "the center button" The iPod should reboot and you'll see it booting back up with the Apple logo. iTunes should automatically install the latest drivers for the device, if that doesn't help it may very well be a hardware issue while you were tinkering with it.
FYI you may want to change the bit size to a PH000 for the PH00 is a bit to big and you may risk the chance of damaging the screw and you may never get it out then! just a heads up for you guys!!
