Thin lines on screen

I have two thin lines on my iPad (IOS12.1.1) screen. One going vertically completely from top to bottom, the other horizontal and only about half way. They colour themselves to match the background (so they are usually white, but in the pictures below they are green because of the lock screen image).

Anyone know what these might be and if I can fix it?

Likely impact or liquid damage to the screen.

I agree with steve. I have an ipad which also suffers from this. Excessive pressure was put on to the screen by my baby niece. The thin line appearing on your Ipad's screen looks identical to that. Maybe same situation here.

Screen replacement is the only option to get rid of the lines I'm afraid.

As others have stated, this looks like damage to the LCD panel. You’re only option is to have the screen replaced or follow the guides on iFixit to do the repair yourself. Apple devices can be tricky to work on if you don’t have any prior experience opening them up. If this was a phone I might recommend attempting the repair as the phones are a little easier to work on. If you feel confident enough to do the repair yourself pay extra attention to what areas you need to avoid when taking the glass off. There are components that can be damaged if you pry to far under the glass in the wrong direction. If attempting the repair yourself, make sure you have all the right tools necessary to perform the repair. I have not looked at the guide on iFixit but I recommend using a thin guitar pick and a heat gun to loosen the adhesive holding the glass in place. In a pinch, a hair dryer will work. The trick is to get the adhesive hot enough so that the pick will cut the adhesive easily. Lots of heat and patients is the trick.
