I read these comments after my repair instead of before.....Very difficult repair. The instructions are fine. On mine, I was able to get it apart and replace the battery, following the instructions. I broke it sliding the circuit board and new battery back into the case. Based on some of the other comments, my guess is my new battery is a couple of RCH's(old guy term, look it up) thicker than the old one and thus my problems. Like anything in life, unlike what Allen Iverson would say.... you have to practice. If you have an iPod with sentimental value that you don't want to end up destroying I suggest you find some Ipod's that you don't care about and practice until you successfully repair at least one before you start on the one that you really care about.
