Hi! My name is Julia Powers and I am an undergraduate civil engineering student at the University of Rhode Island. I'm also minoring in environmental engineering and general business looking to work within renewable and sustainable energy. I choose to major in engineering in general when touring URI. I realized I wanted a major where I could not only be academic but also use my creative skills to solve problems. In my spare time, I often spend time with friends and enjoy the outdoors. Here at URI, I'm part of the outing club where I get to further explore the beauty of our world. I also spend time playing a lot of intermural sports being a part of a fun leisure team to keep my time here interesting.

Overall I am the kind of person who if you were to go to and ask to do something crazy (like backpack for the first time up a mountain in New Hampshire with strangers) I'll be right up that mountain with you. This trait applies to all aspects of my life.

Within my work environment, I bring a positive and motivated attitude with customer service, problem-solving, and management skills. My ability to adapt to various environments and utilize a range of technologies further enhances my value to any team I work with. I enjoy working within teams and getting to know my coworkers on a deeper level. I believe building those relationships creates a stronger work environment.

I haven't had much experience with repairs but I am excited to learn about how to process works and help fix guilds to make fixing simple problems more clear.
