I got a 6s Plus 64GB
OEM of 6s Plus is at 2750mah
Planning to change my battery due to excessive drainage
Will a iphone 6 Plus battery at 2915mah work on a 6s plus

You can plug it in fine and boot the phone. It should fit in but the capacity will be different of course. 6plus 6s and 6s plus all use the same connector.

Have an iPhone 6+ battery in my 6s+, works fine. Connector identical. Power ribbon slightly longer, will have a slight bow in it as opposed to original battery power ribbon, doesn’t affect fit of battery.
Same voltage , slightly higher mAh rating.

I have done this before: installing 6 Plus’ battery in a 6S Plus. Battery life was slightly more but Apple Pay would not function properly (authenticated on the iPhone but unable to detect by the cashier’s terminal).

Should not have made any difference as the NFC antenna is not in the battery
I replaced it with another 6S Plus battery and unsurprisingly Apple Pay works. I think it has to do with the frequency of the signal: with the higher capacity battery of the 6 Plus, it may be “ocerclcoked” thus unrecognizable by the terminal at the cashier.

I bought an iPhone 6 Plus battery for my iPhone 6S Plus. It seems to fit and work well. I did notice that the Battery Health "is unable to determine the battery..." within the Battery function.
