Background and Identification
The Nexus 7 was released in July of 2012, following its announcement at Google's first I/O keynote. Its small design was meant to rival other popular, inexpensive, small tablets of the time, such as the Kindle Fire. It sports a 1280x800 pixel back-lit IPS display, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and 1 GB of RAM. It is also the first device to offer Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
To identify your device, note the Nexus 7's bubbled rear panel, tapered edges, and lack of rear-facing camera.
