If the computer doesn't turn on, check to see if the charging cord is loose. If so, the computer may have not been charging. Try wiggling the cord to see if the computer starts charging. If not, you may need a new charging cord.

If the charging cord is damaged, the computer may not charge. Make sure the connector is not bent and all the prongs and wires are intact. If one or more of these issues are present, consider replacing your charging adapter.

If the computer will not turn on, plug in the power adapter to recharge the battery. If the battery does not recharge, refer to our Battery Replacement Guide.

The computer doesn't have enough space for all my files.

If there is not enough space on your computer, your hard drive may be full. You can delete old applications or use an external hard drive to store data. If neither solutions are preferred, try installing a larger internal hard drive with the Hard Drive Replacement Guide.

The screen is broken and unable to be used.

If there are sections of the screen that remain black when the computer turns on, you may have dead pixels. To fix this, refer to our Screen Replacement Guide.

If the screen is cracked or you've tried fixing the software yet the screen is still not responding, you may need to replace the screen. To replace the screen, refer to the Screen Replacement Guide.

You cannot get the touchscreen to respond to touch.

If the screen is unresponsive to any touches or is frozen, try restarting your device and ensure that the software is up to date. If this issue occurred after recent updates, try uninstalling the new software and see if the problem is fixed.

You have trouble hearing sounds on your computer.

If the audio is distorted, test the audio through the computer speakers, then test it using headphones. If the audio is only distorted while listening via headphones, the audio jack or the headphones themselves may be faulty. Audio that cuts in and out is often a sign of a loose audio jack, so make sure the audio jack is fully inserted in the computer.

If the audio is distorted when listening through the laptop’s speakers, the audio driver may be corrupted. Try updating or reinstalling your audio driver and then restarting your computer.

Your device does not respond when a USB or a computer component is plugged into the port.

If the USB or component is not recognized upon connection, try cleaning the slot with an air duster to clear dust or any obstructions. Also, double check to make sure the component is connected correctly (inserted completely and not upside down or crooked).

If cleaning the port still does not fix the problem, you may have a damaged port. Try inserting the component into a different port; if that fixes the problem, the original port may need to be replaced.
