Background
The Smart Soldering Iron and Portable Soldering Station was released on October 15th, 2024.
Soldering can be an intimidating process for many with the high precise heat and risk of damaging sensitive components, making it a barrier in their repair journey. We at iFixit aim to breach that barrier by creating beginner-friendly soldering features that can’t be found in most soldering stations. In the creation of the iFixit soldering station tools, we put an emphasis on our safety features, ergonomic design, and portability.
